The Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association (SASA) in partnership with the Saskatoon Minor Softball league (SMSL) is very excited to announce the launch of the Saskatchewan North Central Softball Academy (SNCSA) running out of the newly constructed Gordie Howe Sports Complex.  The new Softball Academy will be announcing as variety of programming for kids of all ages and all levels. The first announcement from the Softball Academy is the new HitTrax Leagues which is new to Saskatoon but offers the opportunity for softball players of all ages to participate in this new hitting program. The new Technology develops the skill development of swinging the bat and providing detailed reports with swing velocities. Exciting times for the hitting part of the game of softball.

Another very exciting program is the new Softball Skills Modules for kids of all ages & skill levels. The new programming was developed a highly skilled team of former Softball Canada National Team players & coaches. The Pitching Modules program has Dean Holoien as the Head Instructor along with a team of National Sr & Jr Team members assisting at the training sessions. Leading the Hitting & Skills Modules is Keith MacIntosh, present Softball Canada National Team Coach and former National Team player leads a team of highly skilled instruction staff from former National Team, Collegiate of Provincial team players. The Catching Modules are led by Ryan Ray, another former National team player and present player & coach at the senior levels, assisting Ryan are former National Team & Collegiate players. The Softball Modules Training program is designed for young softball players to assist in their personal skill development and advancement at their own level.
The SNCSA offers softball instructional options for girls and boys of all ages and skill levels.  For players newer to the game of softball the Skills Module Classes in Pitching, Catching, Hitting and Fielding begin this spring.  These new Skills Module Classes teach young softball players the fundamentals of each of these softball skill sets by progressing them through a new instructional series designed specifically for the SNCSA.  The new Skills Module Classes will give young softball players a strong fundamental foundation.

The new SNCSA Spring & Fall Indoor Softball leagues is presently taking in team registrations providing the U12 & U14 Softball teams an opportunity to get some game action in prior to hitting the shale . All games are scheduled with 2 hour timelines, umpires and it’s then game time. Watch for the fall Indoor Softball League as registrations will start in early September of each year. A new focus on the youth in Softball in moving forward with the Launch of Timbits Softball on Saturdays throughout the fall & spring time. Timbits Softball is a revolutionary way of introducing the sport of Softball to children. Activities are included which foster the involvement of ALL players, including players with high and low skill levels. The child will experience excitement, enjoyment and success. Activities and lead-up games are patterned after informal playground games that promise an hour of FUN and LOTS OF ACTION. Participants will go home at the end of the day happy and tired, while improving their fitness level. Watch for details of this new exciting winter program.
